The description is not what you get.
The appearance of the hotel is nice.
The staff was decent, but lazy or cheap to help with real situational needs. They don't serve any kind of breakfast, even though the ad description says they do.
The room was beat up and in desperate need of renovation. There was a very pungent odor of mold in the room. They also had a cockroach infestation. I asked several times for them to handle it but only got the reply that they might be able to move me. I won't recommend this place to anyone. Corporate needs to pull their branding!

OK, so I booked our room months ago on the Wyndham app and couldn't believe that i could get a Fri and Sat on a Long Weekend and a LSU v Alabama game, for the ridiculously cheap price that we did.

A lot of the reviews you read say it's crappy and don't ever stay there. We took a chance and ended up being OK with our choice, especially as similar hotels were 3+ times more expensive.

I have used Microtel Brand a lot on my numerous trips to the USA over the years and have never had any issues.

The room was a twin for my daughter and i. There was nothing wrong with the beds, decent pillows and air con worked very well, and the room was clean, and we did check it for cleaning before we unpacked. We stripped our beds to check also and had no problems. The bathroom was on the older side, and needs some repair work to the tiling, but that didn't impact us or the bathroom.

My opinion for what its worth, stay here be ause the price is so good. Check your room out before you unpack, and if you're not happy, request a room change.

I checked in online the morning of my arrival. When I got there the clerk said he had changed my room and I had to check in all over again. I asked why because in the past at Wyndham hotels all I needed was the room key. We'll going through the process I was charged twice so I showed the clerk and he said one charge was to process it and the other was the actual charge, which has never happened at any hotel. At this time I was kinda irritated but kept my composer checked in and went to the room. Walking in I said to myself it's not bad until I walked into the bathroom I noticed light fixtures missing, holes in the wall, the ac was not blowing as cold as it should have been,and the water had a horrible smell. I called my friend that lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and ask to take a shower there because I was not going to do so in my room and only booked the room because i was attending the LSU game at it was close to the stadium at a reasonable price. Walking out I noticed several customers in the lobby demanding a refund because they found roaches, ants, the shower head broken, holes in the wall, and also talking about the water smell. They looked at me with my backpack and I also said yeah the water smells horrible so I was going shower at my friend's house. The customers said well we are not staying here and will never book at the Microtel again. Told them I have stayed at the Microtel in Houma, Louisiana and it was actually nice and clean so i don't know what is going on at this one. The other customers said well Wyndham needs corporate to come and shut this place down!

Please spend your money elsewhere, they have roaches (see pictures added). Front desk is very rude and unhelpful. Walls are paper thin and room next door was smoking like no tomorrow.

I would never recommend this property to anyone I know. My guest and I were shown four rooms and all of them are terrible. From the holes in the walls, stains on the carpet, dirty/dingy linens, to the black stains throughout the restroom, the list could go on. Unfortunately I cannot think of any redeeming qualities about this property. My guest and I checked in, and promptly left to check into another hotel.

I would never recommend this hotel after my latest experience. I arrived and requested a first floor room like usual but was told that there was no housekeeping that day. So I go to my 3rd floor room and see housekeeping 2 doors down. As a single female traveler I was also very uncomfortable with the shared room, especially since the security lock on the door to the hallway was also missing. The room itself had the toilet paper dispenser falling out of the wall, stained towels and no batteries in the smoke detector. there was gunk sprayed on the ceiling over the coffee pot. but the best was yet to come. after dark, the bugs came out. there were roaches in the room. the hotel has gone downhill over the last year. it is obvious it is not well cared for.
